Seven swords pierced her heart, each representing a sorrow. The prophecy foretold her anguish as she witnessed her son's suffering and sacrifice. The first sword was doubt, as Mary faced the angel's message. The second was the fear of judgment from her community. The third sword was grief for her son's rejection. The fourth sword was the torment of witnessing his crucifixion. The fifth sword was despair at his death. The sixth sword was the pain of holding his lifeless body.
